Meet Josue Soriano, Dispatcher at our Maryland location. He’s been with JK for almost two years now, and his time here has been full of surprises and steady growth.
Finding a place at JK Moving
What initially drew Josue to JK was our location and flexible schedule. But when Josue first started working at JK, he didn’t think he’d stick around for long. He began in the warehouse, and he admits, “In the back of my mind, my plans were to work at JK for a short period.” Since Josue has a background in healthcare, he thought he’d likely go back to that field.
A positive realization
However, the longer Josue stayed with JK, the more he realized the reason he was happy working here was due to something more meaningful. He shares, “I found myself really enjoying what I was doing while making a difference.” That moment made him want to keep growing and help JK Moving keep getting better!
Pride in trust and responsibility
Out of everything he’s done, Josue says he’s most proud of being a dispatcher. “I appreciate the trust that the company has put in my ability to fulfil my role and responsibilities,” he shares. As a dispatcher, he has to coordinate lots of moving parts and communicate clearly. And Josue takes that responsibility seriously every day.
Josue’s words of wisdom for aspiring dispatchers
Looking back on his journey, Josue has some great advice for newcomers in dispatch: “Always do your best at what you do, even if you think no one is watching.” This motto exemplifies Josue’s belief in the importance of honesty and hard work. And it’s true; people do notice even when you think they don’t!
Professional and personal development
At this stage, Josue is focused entirely on improvement. “My personal goal right now is to continue my professional and educational development,” he reveals. It’s this commitment that makes him a valuable part of JK and a leader on his team.
Life beyond the dispatcher’s desk for Josue
When he’s not dispatching, Josue loves being outside. Hiking, camping, and paddleboarding are some of his top hobbies. He’s also a fan of going to the movies and trying new foods. Although Josue isn’t married yet, he’s excited about starting a family someday.
A creative past and personal inspiration
Here’s something you might not know: Josue used to make music when he lived in California. But it’s not a song that has inspired him the most. It’s a book! Josue shares how much The Mountain Is You has had as a positive impact on his life. “I highly recommend reading that book for personal development,” he says.
