JK Moving Services named one of Washington Business Journal's 2020 Best Places to Work

JK Moving Services is honored to be named one of the Washington Business Journal’s 2020 Best Places to Work, particularly because the award is based on feedback from our team.

Each year, companies across the greater Washington, D.C. area participate in the Best Places to Work program. Company employees are sent surveys about their engagement level and happiness at work, evaluating attributes such as team effectiveness, feeling valued, communication and resources, team dynamics, and trust in leadership. Scores then are tallied and ranked. The top companies in small (10-24 employees), medium (25-49 employees), large (50-249 employees), and extra-large (250+ employees) categories become part of the Best Places to Work awards program.

The Washington Business Journal distributed surveys to employees from more than 400 companies early this year, and this year’s rankings were revealed at a virtual awards event on August 27. JK Moving Services joins the likes of Salesforce’s Northern Virginia HQ, Accenture, Telos, and Van Metre on the Best Places to Work: Extra-Large Companies list.

Best Places to Work - Crew BreakfastThere are lots of reasons why our team members have given JK Moving such high marks. Many like the culture of care and respect for everyone, whether a team member, a customer, or someone in the community. Others like the generous benefits package and the opportunity to grow and learn professionally. Still others appreciate the opportunity to give back, most notably through our JK Community Farm, the largest non-profit farm of its kind in the nation, which is almost wholly volunteer-run, growing and donating organic produce and protein to the food insecure. Yet, most of all, it’s the people that make JK so special – and why so many of our employees come – and stay here for years and years. And, if you feel that you’d be a good fit for our team, take a look at the openings that we have.
