Purceville farm gets distance learners in Va. out of their homes, fights food insecurity

It’s a chance for local children to step away from their computers and into an outside classroom.

“They are doing more virtual learning. They are cooped up in their homes and they just need to get out and see where food comes from,” said Susan Huber, a grandmother from Falls Church, Virginia.

Each year the JK Community Farm in Purcellville, Virginia grows hundreds of thousands of pounds of food; from tomatoes to sweet potatoes to peppers and spinach.
