Is put-away the same as unpacking?

No. Unpacking takes your belongings out of the boxes and sets them on counters and tables. Put-Away is the next step: placing everything in cabinets, closets, drawers, and shelves where you want it.

Do I need to be home?

For Put-Away on its own, yes, so you can tell the crew where things go. If you add On-Site Move Management, your move manager can direct the crew while you’re away.

Can I choose just certain rooms?

Yes. Many people start with the kitchen. You decide the scope.

My employer is paying for my move, or gave me a relocation allowance. Can I still add these?

Yes. Let your move consultant know how your move is being paid for. If your company’s program covers these services, we’ll arrange them with your program contacts ahead of time. If you’re managing a relocation allowance yourself, you can add them like any other part of your move.

Who does the work outside the Washington, DC, area?

JK manages it for you. You keep one point of contact, and every job is held to the standard our own crews work to at home.

Put-Away is billed by the hour. On-Site Move Management is billed by the hour or by the day. Your move consultant will estimate what you’ll need.

Can I add these to any kind of move?

Moving day asks you to be in five places at once. Our White Glove Services take the move off your plate, so you can focus on everything else a new home asks of you.

A standard move gets your belongings from one home to the next. Some relocations need more hands-on help: an executive starting a new role on Monday, a recent graduate moving across the country for a first job, a family arriving from overseas, or a spouse managing the move alone while everyone else is at work or school. Our White Glove Services add that help to your local, long-distance, or international move, as much or as little as you need.

Put-Away is the step after unpacking. Our crew places dishes in cabinets, clothes in closets, and books on shelves, with cabinets and shelves wiped down first.

You direct, we place. Pick one room or the whole house and tell us where things go.

Who does the work. In the Washington, DC, area, our own JK crews do it. Moving somewhere else? JK manages it from start to finish.

Not a cleaning service, and it doesn’t include making beds.
