Get to know our summer interns: Building the future, one project at a time

Summer interns at the Farm - 2025

This year, JK Moving welcomed a talented group of summer interns across departments, from Commercial and operations to sales to Residential logistics. Each intern brings their own energy, ideas, and enthusiasm to the table, contributing meaningfully to our work while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Let’s meet a few of the bright minds helping shape the future of our organization.

Clay McKinley, Commercial Sales Intern

Radford University, Marketing

Summer interns - Clay McKinleyClay joined JK’s internship program after spending last summer working on the trucks and wanted to learn the business from a new angle. “I thought it would be a good opportunity to see what it’s all about.”

So far, his biggest accomplishment has been creating a standardized reference template to support the sales process. He’s learned how much work goes into pre-move planning and appreciates the team’s attention to detail. If he could swap roles for a day, it’d be with Rocco, his go-to teammate in Commercial Sales.

Three words to sum up his experience? Lots of experience!

Kamran Hashemi, Operations & Logistics – JK Maryland

University of Tennessee, Supply Chain

Summer interns - Kamran HashemiKamran joined JK’s summer interns program looking for a place to kick off his professional journey and gain real-world insight from a high-performing company. He found exactly that, and more.

“One thing I’m most proud of is that I was trusted to dispatch on my own. That meant a lot.” To describe his internship in three words, Kamran uses the words rewarding, hands-on, and family. The support he’s gotten from the Maryland crew, especially mentors Josue and Tony, has been a standout part of the experience.

And who would he trade places with for a day? JK President David Cox. “It would be fascinating to see how all the moving parts come together across the company.”

Hung Tran, Data & AI Intern – Residential Division

Georgetown University, Data Science & Analytics

Hung brings a data-driven lens to the Residential team, where he’s been working on high-level dashboards and exploring new ways to visualize operational performance.

His favorite project so far involved tracking driver performance and its relationship to customer satisfaction. “It was cool to get our hands dirty with all the information and build something executives will actually use.”

Hung describes his internship in three words: iterative, collaborative, friendly. He says he’d swap places with someone on the warehouse crew if given the chance, mainly because he wants to drive a forklift and see what surprises are stored in inventory!

Lilia Gana, Commercial Operations

Lehigh University, Industrial Systems Engineering

Summer interns - Lilia GanaLilia has made a big impact by streamlining workflows in the Commercial dispatch office. Her proudest accomplishment? Replacing a paper sign-in process with a QR code system that feeds into an Excel database, making it easier to track check-ins and schedules.

She’s been surprised (in the best way) by the culture at JK. “People are incredibly open to chatting and helping out; it’s truly a family-oriented environment.”

Her favorite part of the internship has been the intentional support from her teammates. “Without them, my projects wouldn’t have been as successful.” Lilia describes her internship with one mantra: Always stay curious.

And if she could trade jobs for a day? Forklift operator. “It looks super fun and exciting!”

Learning, leading, and leaving a mark

We’re grateful for the energy and fresh perspective our summer interns bring. They’re not just learning, they’re making a difference.
