STERLING, Va. (February 19, 2020) –JK Moving Services, the nation’s largest independently owned and operated moving company, has named Shannon Gomez as Long Distance Driver of the Year. Gomez received the award, which includes a $5,000 bonus, based on her great safety record, outstanding customer service, and embodiment of JK’s core values, which include care and respect.

Gomez started at JK in January 2019 as a Class-B Move Manager with a plan of becoming a Class–A Move Manager, which enables her to drive any size vehicle. She took her Class-A CDL Training and achieved this goal last July and then proceeded to win JK’s Move Manager of the month in August. Gomez is one of 228 drivers in the company, 34% of these are Class-A drivers like Gomez. She is also among a growing number of women drivers at JK and the industry as a whole.
Her driving record reflects her commitment to safety. Logging 56,000 miles over the past year, she had no accidents, no DOT violations, and performed well with the company’s drivecam system. Last year the company added dashboard cameras to the cabs of all 260 tractors, trucks, and vans in its system to promote safe driving and reduce costs involved with accidents.
In addition, her truck is clean and organized and shipments wrapped and packed correctly. Gomez has received a number of great reviews from happy clients, including these:

The Long Distance Driver of the Year award was announced at JK’s annual Long Distance Driver Conference.
