STERLING, VA (January 28, 2019) – JK Moving Services, a global moving, storage, relocation, and logistics enterprise, named Beth McNamara to be director of marketing, leading the company’s marketing efforts aimed at continuing its growth and expansion. McNamara reports to JK CEO Chuck Kuhn and heads up JK’s Marketing Department.
“Beth brings a great mix of leadership and marketing skills in large, small, and entrepreneurial environments. As we work to grow our business and expand into more markets, having a solid marketing plan that promotes our offerings as well as the values of care and respect are essential to guiding prospective customers to select JK. Beth will ensure we have a strong, coordinated marketing effort that strengthens our brand,” said Kuhn.
Beth McNamara is a creative, strategic marketing leader with over 20 years of serving the business and consumer markets in several industries, including non-profit, healthcare, technology, publishing, and the local business community. She will direct the company’s websites, advertising, public relations, social media, collateral, and conference strategies and related support.

Most recently, McNamara spent nearly six years at AARP, serving as the marketing lead for programs focusing on key association social impact issue areas. While at AARP, she led an integrated marketing team that launched the promotion of a new digital platform which won 25 marketing industry awards. Prior to that, McNamara spent almost five years as the director of marketing and strategic development for DocTalker, a healthcare provider that acts like doctors without walls. She also launched and ran a business that served the local Fairfax and Loudoun County business communities by cold calling new and relocating businesses on behalf of sponsors. Other roles included marketing director and corporate product manager for Brainbench; associate publisher at Phillips Publishing, now Access Intelligence; and paid blogger for HealthCentral.
As an adjunct professor, McNamara has taught courses in business, marketing, and management at both the Northern Virginia Community College and Pepperdine University, DC Campus. She earned her BA in English from Penn State and her MBA from Johns Hopkins. Married and the mother of three sons, she hails from Reston where she is a member of the Reston Masters Swim Team and has served on the boards of volunteer organizations.
