JK Moving Services Expands its Geographic Foot Print to Align with Strategic Growth Plan

June 12, 2017

Premier global moving and relocation company reinforces infrastructure in Mid-Atlantic region

Sterling, VA – June 12, 2017—JK Moving Services, a global moving, storage, relocation, and logistics enterprise, along with its sister company, CapRelo, today announced the opening of a new facility in Woodbridge, VA, the acquisition of a new warehouse operation in Gaithersburg, MD, and the purchase of the CapRelo Corporate headquarters building in Sterling, VA, just minutes from Dulles International Airport.

The expansion to Woodbridge is merely one aspect of JK’s strategic growth plan that includes the construction of a 500,000 square foot headquarters campus in Sterling, Virginia – scheduled to break ground in 2018.  The Woodbridge facility offers our Virginia-based corporate and residential clients more access to quality relocation services within the central and southern communities of Virginia. The new JK facility is expected to generate as many as 100 new jobs to Woodbridge area residents before the end of 2017. The new facility is located at 3310 Noble Pond, Suite 105, Woodbridge, VA.

“We’re excited to expand our footprint into Prince William County,” said Jon Theiss, VP and GM, Commercial Moving Services. “Establishing the facility allows greater opportunity to service current and potential customers, while opening our services to a growing marketplace.”

With its new warehouse in Gaithersburg, JK adds a truck scale to its operation.  This enables JK to better service State Department, military and international customers. The new facility adds more than 2 million cubic feet of storage space to our Gaithersburg operation, more than doubling JK’s prior storage capacity in Maryland. The new Gaithersburg warehouse is located at 7501 Lindbergh Drive, Gaithersburg, MD.

“The addition of the truck scale is instrumental for servicing customers in Maryland effectively,” said Tom Grass, GM for JK’s Maryland operations.

CapRelo is intimately familiar with their new headquarters as they have leased the space for several years and decided to purchase the building as a strategic positioning for continued growth in the metropolitan D.C. area and for the convenient proximity to Dulles International Airport and the future of the metro rail system.   The CapRelo building is located at 22810 Quicksilver Drive, Sterling, VA.

“The openings of our new and expanded facilities within the D.C. metropolitan area are critical steps in the strategic growth of our enterprise,” said Chuck Kuhn, Founder and President of the JK family of services. “Along with the development of our new technology center and headquarters campus in Loudoun, our expansion into Prince William and growth in Gaithersburg reconfirms our commitment to expanding our highly acclaimed services throughout the metropolitan area.”
