JK President/CEO Chuck Kuhn Breaks Records as Co-Chairmen of Fight Night 2007.  More Than $3.1 Million Raised for Childrens’ Charities.

January 18, 2008 - Washington, DC – JK Moving & Storage President/CEO Chuck Kuhn, Chairman of Fight Night 2007, and his Co-Chair, NEW Customer Service Companies, Inc. chief executive Fred Schaufeld were given the enviable task of topping last year’s fundraising figure of $2.4 million. Returning for an unprecedented second term as Chairman, Kuhn this year combined efforts with Schaufeld, to raised more than $3.1 million for Fight for Children, surpassing the Chairman’s goal by 82%, thus yielding the largest single-year amount ever generated.

A veritable who’s-who of the D.C. business, sports, media and political elite, Fight Night attracted more than 2,200 movers-and-shakers on Thursday, November 8 to an evening of great food, live boxing, legendary celebrities and hot musical entertainment, all the while benefiting more than a dozen D.C.-based children’s charities.

Now in its 18th year, Fight For Children has raised and leveraged more than $190 million to support over 150 youth- and family-serving organizations and expand options for families in education. In roles as Chairman and Co-Chair of Fight Night, Kuhn and Schaufeld have literally raised the bar higher than ever before.

“It’s an incredible honor to serve as Chairman of Fight Night but it also carries with it great responsibility,” Kuhn said. “Each chairman has his own distinct personality, puts his own personal stamp on the event. He attracts his own personal circle of friends and colleagues to the event and, for that year, leaves a little of his own imprint – his own legacy, if you will – on Fight Night. I’m personally thrilled to have had the opportunity for give back to so many deserving causes.”

Kuhn is the first individual, aside from founder Joseph E. Robert, Jr., to serve two terms as Fight Night chairman.
